Classes are held if the minimum number of students specified by the instructor are enrolled; most classes also have a maximum enrollment. We suggest you sign up early. Use the "signup for a class" link above to signup online.
Class fees and Materials fees, if any, are due no later than the 'register by' date included in the class description and payable to the Isle of Wight Arts League. Absolutely Beginner Painting with Acrylics
May 6, 7 and 8, 2026
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1 to 3 PM

Have you ever wanted to paint but didn’t know where to start? This 3-day beginner-friendly acrylic painting class is perfect for you!
✨ No experience necessary – even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before.
✨ Step-by-step guidance in a fun, relaxed setting.
✨ Learn the basics of acrylics, color mixing, brush techniques, and composition.
✨ Complete your very own finished painting to take home and be proud of.
By the end of this class, you’ll not only have a beautiful painting, but also the confidence and skills to keep creating. Instructor supplied materials include brushes, paint and canvas. A new subject to paint each month teaching new skills.
Class Fee is $75 for Members ($85 for Non-members) plus a Materials fee of $25.

Unlock the vibrant world of oil painting in this beginner-friendly two-day course. Sessions will cover basic techniques, color mixing, different mediums, brushwork and more. You will learn how to handle materials safely and build a painting from the first sketch to the final highlight. Build on skills learned in each class. All supplies provided. Class Fee is $75 for Members ($85 for Non-members) plus a Materials fee of $25.
